WAPCS will be open to all DC children who meet DC regulations regarding student enrollment and residency verifications. WAPCS expects that the school’s population will reflect the racial, ethnic and socioeconomic diversity of Ward 6 and DC. WAPCS will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, disability, or age in its programs or activities and will provide equal access.
WAPCS will participate in MY School DC to ensure equal opportunity for all. A parent or guardian will file an application directly or through MY School DC. Applications will be submitted to an enrollment lottery if one is required due to receipt of more applications than slots available. Our recruitment team will provide families with any help needed with regard to the applications process, deadlines, and/or technology assistance.
WAPCS will be a full Arabic immersion school, and in order to ensure the success of our students, WAPCS will be open to enrollment from PK3 to second grade; i.e. students can join WAPCS until the second grade.
If space becomes available in mid-year, individuals on the waiting list will have the opportunity to enroll at WAPCS. In an immersion school, enrolling mid-year is not recommended, but since DC has a transient population, the school will work closely with families to close gaps and ensure smooth transition and success of the new students.
In order to help families to apply to WAPCS, we want families to fill the following form and indicate what grade their child will be in 2021-2022:
